For the U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania, Pat Toomey (R) still leads Joe Sestak (D) by a Real Clear Politics average of 6.9. Sestak had a strong rally in Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 2nd. He campaigned with State Representative Dan Frankel and City Controller Michael Lamb. Sestak spoke about the challenges Pennsylvanians are facing and the steps to achieve victory on November 2nd.
With four weeks until the election Joe Sestak unveiled a new commercial that leans on his 31 years of services to the country in the military. He is looking for a tremendous push back and gain undecided voters. Sestak made up a 20 point gap in four weeks against Arlen Specter and he will look to do the same to win the senate seat.
Last week, Pat Toomey (R) got a remarkable endorsement from Former Navy Secretary John Lehman. He spoke about Toomey and said, “Pat is a man of principle and integrity. His commitment to the principles of limited government, individual freedom, and personal liberty are unwavering. Pat has tremendous respect for our armed services and a great love for this country. I know he will always put the security of our country first. I look forward to helping him win his race in November.”Mark Harris the Campaign manager for Pat Toomey recently sent me an email revealing the commercial that they will air soon. It clearly lays out the policies Sestak voted for led to record unemployment and the lingering economic recession. This ad is a counter punch after the Sestak campaign released numerous negative ads over the past few weeks.

For the Pennsylvania Governor’s race Tom Corbett (R) and his campaign have been very active in the past week. The put hundreds of 4X8 signs up along major roads and launched a new Facebook page that is titled Women for Tom Corbett. The campaign also had three coalition events which gained support form veterans and sportsmen. Other key endorsements were Fraternal Order of Police, the Pennsylvania Medical Society PAC and the national Federation of Independent Business. Brian Nutt the Campaign manager for the Corbett Campaign emailed me this weekend and sent me the latest Campaign ad. In this ad Corbett explains his commitment to bringing jobs back to Pennsylvania and lowering taxes state wide.
Dan Onorato (D) released an ad two weeks ago and has cut Corbett’s lead to a Real Clear politics average of 8.8. This ad below has been talked about nonstop for the past week on all the major radio and television stations. This ad contributed greatly to increased name recognition. The Governor’s race may be closer than the polls may lead you to believe.
