Andrew Cuomo, son of Mario Cuomo, is running what seems to be an easy race for New York's Governor. Over the summer Cuomo was polling 40 points over his main opposition Republican Carl Paladino. These numbers have not stopped Paladino from running a hard campaign against Cuomo. His talk of being “mad as hell” and really shaking up the Albany government has started to resonate with New Yorkers. Recently RealClearPolitics had the race separated by just ten points. Paladino seems to be putting up a challenge that no one thought was coming. The power of the Tea Party movement is very evident here. While Paladino will most likely still lose the election, gaining that much ground so quickly shows the power this new conservative movement is having in this election.
